Who We Are
Founded after the devastating Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, our mission is to facilitate healthcare access for all. Our journey began after mobilizing a disaster relief team in response to the Hurricane. The experience inspired us and lead to specialization in medical and laboratory support through supply, equipment, and reagent sales.
We have served labs, doctors, nurses, and medical and educational facilities, offering comprehensive support through supply, equipment, and reagent sales.
Our Founder
Federico didn’t plan to become the founder of a lab supply company. That journey starts in Puerto Rico, where resilience and community shaped his view of what healthcare should be.
After graduating from one of the nation’s leading Medical Technology programs, Federico built a career in the lab—from technologist at the bench to hospital quality and soon managing the lab at one of the top children’s hospitals in the U.S. He thought he had seen it all—until Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico.
In the chaos that followed, Federico led a relief effort that brought laboratory testing back to Vega Baja, partnering with doctors and community leaders to meet a basic but critical need: reliable lab results. That moment changed him. He saw how fragile healthcare systems can be, and how much people depend on labs to function.
He came home determined to do things differently. He built RicoLab Services, a mobile phlebotomy company that mirrored the personal, home-based care he had seen in Puerto Rico. When COVID-19 swept the world, his team pivoted overnight, delivering testing services to businesses, assisted living facilities, and even celebrities.
Out of that experience came RicoLab Supplies. To Federico, this isn’t just a business—it’s a way to give labs and clinics the support he wished he had as a technologist and manager. No runaround. No inflated costs. Just a partner who understands that every supply, every order, and every detail matters because it impacts patient care.
